“…the ether in which this little earth floats, in which we move and have our being, is a form of energy moving at an inconceivably high rate of vibration, and that the ether is filled with a form of universal power which ADAPTS itself to the nature of the thoughts we hold in our minds; and INFLUENCES us, in natural ways, to transmute our thoughts into their physical equivalent.” ~Napoleon Hill
The inspiration behind this painting came from my deeply-held belief that we manifest what we think about. To illustrate what Napoleon Hill says above, I wanted to present a vision of a conscious universe that is always responding to the energy frequencies we are generating at any given time. The trees in the foreground represent people who are “witnessing” (on a spiritual level) the workings of the universe, or God, in action.
The trees are so tiny in this painting, just as we can feel small when contemplating the size of the expansive universe and the grandeur of God. However, I wanted to present them not from a hopeless “dust in the wind” perspective, but as souls bearing witness to the incredible awesomeness all around them.
The swirls represent either clouds, invented galaxies, the aforementioned ether, or all of these interchangeably. I really just wanted to incorporate these flowing, organic, “vibrating” shapes to help give form to these energy frequencies that are invisible to eye.
Ultimately, I think I was successful in executing my vision in this painting. I wanted to express that you can feel alone but not lonely, and small but not belittled.
